Individual Talk Therapy

Individual therapy is one type of psychotherapy in which a trained professional helps a single person work through personal issues they have been facing. It is an effective treatment for a variety of emotional difficulties and mental illnesses. Therapy sessions give individuals the opportunity to confidentially talk through problems or situations with a trained professional. It does not necessarily make problems disappear, but it equips individuals with the tools needed to cope with them more appropriately.

EMDR Therapy

Compared to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR can be less invasive and can be easier on the client as it doesn't require repeated review of the traumatic events. It is not hypnosis nor does it remove the memories of the event. EMDR does remove the negative symptoms experienced when you recall the event. We're excited for what this means for our current clients as well as those interested in improving their mental health

Couples Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a well-known humanistic approach to psychotherapy formulated in the 1980’s and developed in tandem with the science of adult attachment, a profound developmental theory of personality and intimate relationships. This science has expanded our understanding of individual dysfunction and health as well as the nature of love relationships and family bonds. Attachment views human beings as innately relational, social and wired for intimate bonding with others. The EFT model prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as the key organizing agents in individual experience and key relationship interactions.

Premarital and marital assessment

Widely known as a leading relationship inventory, PREPARE/ENRICH is called a “program” because it contains both a couples assessment and a semi-structured feedback process. As part of the feedback process, the program teaches the couple relevant relationship skills like communication and conflict resolution. The goal of the program is to help premarital couples prepare for marriage (PREPARE) and married couples enrich their marriage (ENRICH) by increasing their awareness of relationship strengths and growth areas and providing them with skills to improve their 2 relationship. The Customized version is totally online and is designed for dating, engaged, and married couples. It is called Customized since it tailor-makes the assessment for each couple based on background information they provide. The Prepare-Enrich program helps to start meaningful discussions with couples by determining the strengths and weaknesses within each unique relationship. There is a 30 percent higher marital success rate for couples who received counseling before their wedding than those who did not.

individual Clinical supervision

Clinical supervision is a formal and disciplined working alliance that is generally, but not necessarily, between a more experienced and a less experienced worker, in which the supervisee's clinical work is reviewed and reflected upon, with the aims of: improving the supervisee's work with clients; ensuring client welfare; supporting the supervisee in relation to their work, and supporting the supervisee's professional development.
